2025 Pre-Fair Junior Exhibitor Information
Quality Assurance Training is required annually for all junior fair exhibitors (4-H and FFA) with market or lactating animals. DUE MAY 1, 2025
For the 2025 Pickaway County Fair youth livestock exhibitors (8-18) may choose to take the online YQCA certification program or attend in-person QA training on MARCH 25, APRIL 10 or MARCH 27 (for 1st year exhibitors age 10 and under only). A reservation with the county extension office or FFA chapter (if offered) is required to attend in-person.
Online YQCA Training - (sign in as an independent). There is a cost of $12 per exhibitor. In order for the on-line training to count, each youth must complete the module and quiz that is the correct age as of January 1 for the youth. Once YQCA training is complete, email your PDF or photo of certificate to sharp.5@osu.edu. After May 1 the Extension Office will notify advisors of any members currently incomplete in their training.
Project possession date for all species except chickens & rabbits is APRIL 15
Spring tagging for market hogs, lambs, goats and dairy beef feeders will take place APRIL 19
- Dairy beef feeders 8:00am-9:00pm.
- Market hogs, market lambs, & and market goats 9am-11am.
- ALL traffic will enter the east parking lot from Stoutsville Pike
- REQUIRED PAPERWORK will be distributed that will be needed at fair move-in
- Trailers with dairy beef feeders will enter in through GATE D1 (gate between the horse and cattle barn). Dairy beef feeders are the ONLY species that will come off the trailer (to be weighed). Refer to emails from 4-H extension office to assure vaccination requirements have been met.
- Trailers with hogs, goats and sheep will enter through GATE C (by the small animal barn). Hogs, goats and sheep WILL NOT come off the trailer. A representative from livestock sale committee and/or sr. fair board will board the trailer to insert tag(s). All goats and sheep must have scrapie ids.
- Trailers with dairy beef feeders AND another species will go through dairy beef feeder weigh-in first.

Jr. Fair registrations for dogs and horses (on paper) is due MAY 1
Project possession date for market chickens & rabbits is MAY 15
Junior Fair Livestock Online Registration (market and breeding animals, excludes dogs and horses) is due MAY 15 by 7pm (available starting APRIL 19)
2025 oNLINE REGISTRATION
Online registrations for the 2025 Pickaway County Fair are required for all livestock projects, as well as showmanship. Entries must be completed on pickawaycounty.fairentry.com (click link above). The Livestock Sale Committee will email login information to advisors to check their club members' submissions.
- Each animal must have its own entry unless the animal exhibits as a pen of 2 (ONLY some poultry projects).
- One entry per rabbit. (i.e. if taking 2 market rabbits, submit 2 entries).
- Each exhibitor can bring no more than a total of 10 animals to the fair. No more than 5 market animals per exhibitor. No more than 2 market animals may be exhibited in each specie area except market poultry, which may exhibit one pen of market chicken, one pen of market ducks, or up to two individual turkeys.
- All county born and raised animals must be bred, born AND raised in Pickaway County. Check mark the box asking if it is Pickaway County Born and Raised.
- NO tag number is needed for Market Swine, Market Goats, Market Lambs, or Dairy Beef Feeders. For sheep and goats, scrapie tags numbers are required to be entered.
- Showmanship classes are by exhibitor's age as of January 1. NOT by years in project.
- Junior (age 8 AND 3rd grade - 10 years)
- Intermediate (11-13 years)
- Senior (14-18 years)
- Review entries before completing registration. Updates cannot be made online once entries are submitted.
- After registration is complete you will receive one e-mail with your entries, and a second email when your entries are accepted. Review and keep both emails. Make any corrections IMMEDIATELY.
- There is a $25 late fee per entry (excluding showmanship) for corrections and additions made between June 1st and the first Saturday of fair. Absolutely no entries, breeding, market, or showmanship, will be permitted after the first Saturday of the fair.
- ALL junior fair checks for the 2025 fair will be picked up at the fair office in August.

Livestock Skillathon Judging is a junior fair rule that is required for all 4-H and FFA exhibitors to attend and participate for project completion and fair eligibility. Skillathon Judging events will take place TUESDAY, JUNE 3 and WEDNESDAY, JUNE 4. Time slots will be assigned for each club/organization. For those that cannot attend on their regular scheduled judging day early judging will take place THURSDAY, MAY 29 from 1pm-5pm by appointment. Contact the extension office to schedule a time.
Equine exhibitors must complete fair registration and the online EquiSTEP program annually. DUE MAY 1
Dog exhibitors must complete registration by MAY 1
